About Kollam District Rifle Association

VISION & MISSION

The aim is to nurture and elevate shooting sportspersons from Kollam to compete at national and international Shooting Championships, including the Olympics and other world-level competitions. Our mission is to build a strong team of well-trained shooters, irrespective of gender, to represent Kollam in the sport of shooting and bring pride and recognition to the district.

winning history

Twelve shooters from Kollam qualified for Kerala State-level competitions through strong performances. The team includes four pistol shooters, five .177 peep sight air rifle shooters, and three .177 open sight air rifle shooters, including four women, highlighting the district’s inclusive and growing shooting culture.

Our history

The Kollam District Rifle Association has grown into a respected hub for shooting sports through structured training, disciplined coaching, and grassroots efforts. Over the years, shooters from Kollam have competed at district and state levels, delivering commendable performances and gaining exposure. The association remains focused on youth development, safety standards, and sustained excellence in shooting sports.

Governing Body

The Ex-Officio President of the association is the District Collector, the Senior Vice-President post is held by the District Police Chief, and the Vice-President position is held by the Additional District Magistrate, with the association further administered by the Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, and an Executive Committee.
